For the 25th time, Canadians from coast to coast to coast continue their long-standing New Year’s Eve tradition of ringing out the old year with some laughs and surprises.
Your favourite annual comedy recap of the year gone by, AIR FARCE NEW YEAR'S EVE, lands back on CBC Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 8:00 PM (8:30 NT) with an all-new special, satirizing the insanity that was 2017.
This year, Wonder Woman battles America’s biggest threat, President Donald J. Trump; Quebec’s anti-burka law gets a well-deserved jab; and The Handmaid’s Tale gets a musical treatment from Taylor Swift. Plus there's the annual dropping of the F-Bomb on the most deserving targets of the year, as suggested by AIR FARCE fans from all across the country.
Don Ferguson, Luba Goy, Jessica Holmes, Craig Lauzon, and Darryl Hinds welcome a new cast member, Lisa Gilroy, and welcome back two recent additions to the troupe, Chris Wilson and Isabel Kanaan.
Special guests this year include David Suzuki getting schooled on climate change; Canadian and world figure skating champion Kurt Browning finding himself on thin ice with an unlikely skating partner; and a return appearance from one of our favourite guests over the years, Lloyd Robertson.
What’s more Canadian than AIR FARCE, eh? AIR FARCE CANADA 150 pulled out all the stops for the country’s 150th birthday, capturing the patriotic spirit of Canada’s sesquicentennial celebrations in 60 funny, fast-paced minutes.
And for the first time in AIR FARCE history, the whole country came together to watch at the exact same time!
Thank you to everybody who watched AIR FARCE NEW YEAR'S EVE 2016 on CBC! Whether it was our early premiere on Friday, December 30, our special broadcast after the hockey game on New Year's Eve, or our New Year's Day repeat, we're thrilled that over two million Canadians made AIR FARCE part of their New Year's plans!
